Special campaigns | International Women’s Day
we join the world and Uganda in celebrating the achievements of women, focusing on those making a difference within our local communities. Instead of traditional celebrations centred on educated women and political figures, we honour the unsung heroes—women in agriculture, home care, and those supporting children’s education. By highlighting these local role models, we demonstrate that transformation happens at the grassroots level, encouraging communities to recognize the positive change happening around them. Through these stories, we aim to inspire others and show that there are role models to learn from within the community.
Our activities, aligned with the year’s theme, aim to sensitize communities about women’s challenges and promote gender equality. We organize open dialogues and workshops to raise awareness about issues like gender-based violence and access to education, creating a platform for community-driven solutions. By fostering conversations and showcasing inspiring stories, we work together with community members to identify practical ways to support women’s empowerment. Celebrations include cultural performances and exhibitions of women’s achievements, creating a sense of unity and reinforcing the message that when women thrive, the entire community prospers.
