We have inbuilt expertise and capacity to respond to local emergencies with the aim of saving lives, providing relief and ensuring peoples safety. We equip communities with survival techniques and knowledge to reduce their vulnerabilities to disasters and emergencies. When disasters happen, we work with communities to rebuild their lives. This is linked to our development approach in building communities of young people with skills and capacity to withstand shocks and quickly adjust their lives to overcome the effects of the disasters on their lives. In our emergency work, we prioritise women and children as they are heavily affected in such times.
Though our integrated approach to peace building, we work to ensure that everyone in our communities had fair and equal access to the basic needs of wellbeing, everyone has an equal opportunity to work and make a living and all people live in safety without threat of violence.
